Diaper Rashes – Your Wipe’s Fabric Is the Cause.

https://www.healthline.com

Being the mother of a newborn baby is a joy to behold. From carrying your baby in the womb to holding it in your arms for the very first time, you get overly attached to your baby. The fragile bones and the paper-thin skin makes you exceedingly protective. All you want to do is take good care of your baby and make sure that the baby is in the best of its health and spirits. To ensure this, you go to extreme lengths. You baby-proof the house, buy the best quality of food, the softest of clothes and get all the vaccinations. However, amid all the hassles of raising a baby, one often tends to forget about diaper rashes that cause extreme discomfort.

The skin of a baby is paper-thin and extremely delicate. Thus, only the softest and purest form of fabric should be used when it comes to your baby. You’ll be shocked to know that the diapers or the wipes that you use may be made up of abrasive materials like polyester that are toxic to your baby’s skin. These diapers or wipes, whenever used, act as an irritant and cause immense discomfort to your child.

The solution to this problem, as clinically proven, is very simple. Use pure form of water to wash/clean your baby. You may even use cotton balls soaked in pure/clean water to wipe your baby.

However, this method is highly inconvenient and cannot be sustained.

Thus, to tackle this problem and make it easier for you, I’d like to introduce you to Mother Sparsh Baby Water Wipes.

They are just a way more convenient and preferable way to wipe your baby.

Due to the convenience factor, these wipes are widely preferred over the traditional age-old method of wiping your baby with cotton and water.

Trends in the Indian Food Industry #Godrej Food Trends 2018 Contest #GFTR2018

The Indian food industry, unlike any other, serves to be a mecca for food fanatics not only in the nation but around the globe. According to the latest statistics available at the Indian Brand Equity Foundation (ibef.org), the Indian industry will be valued at a whopping US$ 65.8 billion by the end of this year. Moreover, with the sixth largest food and grocery market in the world and the food retail market expected to hit US$ 895 billion by 2020, the Indian food industry stands tall among the rest, rightfully claiming its place like a behemoth.

You will not find a tongue in the world that is not tantalized by the idea of devouring any of the numerous mouth-watering dishes that our country has to offer. Be it the infamous chicken tikka masala, the flavour-packed biryani or the mighty masala dosa, just to name a few. Heck! I’m salivating just writing about these. The diverse culture and the flavourful cuisine, always packed with a punch, is the quintessence of the Indian food industry.

It is self-evident that an industry of such magnitude will captivate the eyes of every food aficionado across the world. Thus, to satiate the never-ending curiosity pertaining to the Indian food industry and what it has to offer in the years to come, the Godrej group came out with the “Godrej Food Trends 2018 Report”.

“The goal of the Godrej Food Trends Report 2018 is to share useful data with the larger food fraternity.”, says Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal, Managing Director, A Perfect Bite Consulting.

This report is a culmination of the top food trends that are expected to catch on this year. Points like the rise of the local/indigenous Indian ingredients, environmental accountability, hyper-local sourcing of seasonal food and practices like mindful eating have made it to the list. These trends, among many others listed in the “Godrej Food Trends Report 2018” have already stirred a conversation among the food enthusiasts about the future of food in India.

Allow me to shed light on the trends in the Indian food industry, as listed in the Godrej Food Trends Report 2018 under Restaurant Trends.

  1. Food inspired by ethnic ingredients/regional Indian cuisines

With the Indian food industry on the verge of blowing up and conquering the heart and souls of the gastronomic gladiators, people are recognizing the importance of incorporating ethnic and indigenous ingredients in their food. Be it the food inspired by locally grown ingredients or the rich cultural diversity of our nation, the culmination of the two is adding to the variance in food available in different regions. Thus, a massive 67% of the people backed this trend.

Imagine several restaurants being set up across the nation that promotes and serve the local ingredients and the rich cultural diversity of the region. People come to dine in and witness the vibrant and flavourful food prepared/inspired by the fresh ingredients that grow all around them and pays tribute to the prolific diversity offered by the region.

I do see this trend to be catching on soon.

  1. Health-inspired menus

The Indian food is often associated with food items that are considered unhealthy/not good enough when it comes to the nutritional point of view. Be it the deep-fried samosas, or the Ghee ka Parantha (rich in bad saturated fat) or even the desserts that are loaded with processed sugar, people end up consuming unhealthy food daily.

However, with the imminent rise in awareness among the Indian community, people are being more and more concerned about the food that they consume. Presently, the Indian demographic is inclining towards adopting a healthy lifestyle. There is a huge uproar in the community regarding the endorsement of a healthy lifestyle. Everything ranging from the nutritional content of the food (the macros – protein/carb/fat) or the consumption of only natural, organic food is at a rise.

The restaurants too, understand the need to develop a health-inspired menu that not only satiates the taste buds of the ravenously hungry food fanatics, but also takes care of their health. Such health inspired food menus will help encourage the Indian demographic to adopt and sustain a healthy lifestyle. This “all aboard the health train” trend better catches on among the restaurants and not just end up being a dark horse in this race.

  1. Pop-up Restaurants

Pop-up restaurants are a huge hit abroad and it is a trend that seems to be taking on in India too.

These are makeshift restaurants that are set up for a day or two. The promotion is done mainly through social media sites or blogging.

These often have a theme and are an absolute crowd-puller. Imagine walking past an empty store one day and witnessing a pop-up restaurant established at the same place the very next day. Wouldn’t you want to go in and feast on the variety of food being offered? Of course, you would. You might even rave about it to your friends. In this era of Instagram and Twitter, such pop-up restaurants often end up trending and turn out to be a massive success. We all have witnessed how crowded it gets when a food truck comes around with mouth-watering bites to eat.

A pop-up restaurant called the “The Secret Chulha” is often set up in Pune, Maharashtra. Here is a look at their menu.

Next time you’re out for a stroll and stumble across a pop-up restaurant, be sure to check it out and be a part of this rocketing trend.

  1. Mindful Eating

Creating awareness amongst ourselves about the importance and benefits of adopting and sustaining a healthy lifestyle is of utmost importance. People need to be conscious about the food that they so hurriedly ingest. Our bad eating habits have resulted in most us being obese and unfit. Thereby resulting in the majority of population being either underweight/malnourished or overweight/obese.

According to the Times of India, India is 1st in the underweight population and among the top 5 when it comes to the overweight population.

Image courtesy – Times of India

Thus, we need to ride the wave of adopting a healthier lifestyle and engage in mindful eating. This includes partaking all natural and organic foods and staying away from junk and processed food.

The restaurants too, on seeing that there is an opportunity to create a niche in the Indian community and serve all organic and healthy food, are willing to adapt and ride the wave, thereby encouraging the concept of mindful eating.

We need to be calorie conscious. We need to be aware of our macros. And we need to deviate towards all organic food and stay away from junk and processed foods.

Only then will this trend catch on and “lead to a greater demand for products and services that encourage mindful eating”.

Capital Punishment for Child rapists? – #SuperBloggerChallenge2018 #Instacuppa

Following the barbaric rape cases that have surfaced in recent times, a prodigious public outcry is witnessed across the nation where people are demanding justice for the victims of such heinous crimes.

The most recent of all is the Asifa Bano rape case. An 8-year-old girl in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir was kidnapped, held captive in a temple, raped repeatedly and murdered. This case has triggered a huge public outrage; like the one witnessed in the infernal Nirbhaya case in December 2012 where a girl was fatally gang-raped in a moving bus.

Many such cases have surfaced from time to time that shocks us to our very core. Moreover, such cases compel us to question the efficiency of our current judicial system in curbing such offences and bringing justice to the victims of such heinous crime.

The question that is spreading like wildfire across the nation right now is whether capital punishment (death penalty) is fitting for child rapists or not.

Rape, in general, is considered as one of the most barbaric and inexcusable of offences. The sheer mental, physical and emotional trauma that one goes through cannot even be put in words.

And to inflict all that mentally, physically and emotionally slaughtering trauma on a child is gruesome and appalling. We can’t even begin to imagine the effect it has on an adult, let alone a child.

Due to the recent spine-chilling cases looming over our heads, there is an apparent need to make some amendments in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In the present scenario, there is a 3-year imprisonment for sexually harassing a child, 5-year imprisonment for sexual assault and 10-years imprisonment for aggravated sexual assault.

Now, there are talks of adoption of capital punishment for people convicted of raping a child below the age of 12.

“I have been deeply, deeply disturbed by the rape case in Kathua and all the recent rape cases that have happened on children. I and the (women and child development) ministry intend to bring an amendment to the POCSO Act asking for death penalty for rape of children below 12 years,” Maneka Gandhi was heard saying in a video, which was uploaded on Twitter.

Many might be against capital punishment thinking that although the anger is justified, the law should not be amended based on a mere public outrage. Moreover, some say that a death penalty will not a serve a deterrent in such cases. That the people willing to commit such crimes will not be afraid to do it just because of the fear of being hanged.

However, in my opinion, the adoption of capital punishment or a death penalty for people convicted of raping a child, is judicious.

Not only will it serve to bring justice to the victim and her family, but will also act as a deterrent, at least on some level. It may even instil the victims and the family members to come out and report the case, as a majority of rape cases go unreported due to the social stigmas attached to it. Moreover, a chemical castration can also serve as a deterrent and inhibit people from getting involved in such crimes.

Be it life imprisonment, chemical castration or capital punishment, such heinous crimes shall not be neglected. The culprits must be penalized duly. Justice should be served in a befitting manner and not in some form of a monetary compensation given to the victim’s family.

Feel free to comment down your thoughts below and contribute in this debate by being an active part of it.

Are you pro-death penalty for child rapists and child sex offenders? Do you think that adopting capital punishment for the crime will act as a deterrent? Do you think it will engrave a fear of death in the minds of future culprits?

Or are you of the opinion that death penalty should be abolished?

Divatress – For the Diva in you.

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.

All of us are aware of the hassles of styling our hair daily. Be it straightening the hair for a party or curling the hair to revamp your style, the struggle of styling the hair is real. Not to mention the harmful effects it has on our hair. The heat from the hair straightener or the curling iron or just a mere hair dryer invariably damage our hair when used day-after-day.

Thus, most women out there suffer from severe hair fall. The split ends and the intense hair fall leads to the deterioration of the hair. Moreover, the scorching heat of the summer season, a large amount of suspended particulate matter in the air present as a pollutant or the contaminated water we unknowingly use to wash our hair, all of it takes a toll on our hair.

So, how do we stop it? We can’t just stop styling our hair and end up looking like a mess. All of us want to look good. All of us desire to be the best possible version of ourselves. Be it a mom of 3 kids who is always running around the house doing chores and taking care of her kids, or a pop celebrity always on the road – touring, all women want to be able to look in the mirror and feel good about the way they look. Not only does looking good instils in us a tremendous amount of confidence, but it also pushes us to go out there in the world and conquer our goals.
