The everyday struggles of earning bread for the family has resulted in all of us being callous about our fitness. As a result, most of us are becoming indolent and sluggish. We are befalling to be work-shy and end up procrastinating not only when it comes to sustaining a healthy lifestyle, but also in our day-to-day activities. Moreover, with summers just a short distance away, the sluggishness is on the rise. Thus, there is a need to necessitate the incorporation of fitness into our daily routine.
I, being a workaholic, have often struggled with being drained throughout the day and found myself procrastinating and unable to take care of my health. However, I wanted to change my lifestyle to address this issue. I wanted to be energetic and lively. So, I made some changes in my daily routine AND IT WORKED LIKE A WONDER.
People often don’t realize the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Not only does it keep you active, but it also results in you being efficient in whatever it is that you do.
Here are the 5 fitness tips from my daily routine that resulted in a new and rejuvenated me.
-
Start your day with drinking 2-3 glasses of lukewarm water.
It’s funny how we fail to integrate something as easy as drinking water in our daily routine. I cannot stress the importance of keeping ourselves hydrated enough. Starting your day with drinking 2-3 glasses of lukewarm water will help detoxify your system and give you a much-required jump start. It’s also beneficial for your skin.

Exercise
Firstly, exercising does not mean going to the gym. You don’t necessarily have to go the gym to work out or burn calories.
Maybe go for a 15-20 minute run every morning or a brisk walk in the evening. As long as you manage to incorporate some form of physical activity in your daily routine, preferably something that increases your heart rate by 50% i.e. some form of cardio, you’ll be good. Lack of physical activity will only make you sluggish.
Secondly, exercising daily will not only keep you physically fit, but will also have a soothing effect on your cognizance.

Count your caloric intake
We need to be aware of the number of calories that we consume daily. Whether you want to shed fat, lose/gain weight or build muscle, you need to know your daily caloric intake and eat accordingly.
I have already written an article on the importance of counting your calories. DO READ my article for to know more everything from calculating your daily caloric intake to using it to lose/gain weight.

Meditate
Meditation doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to sit alone with your legs crossed and eyes closed. You can learn to meditate anytime, anywhere. Be it on a bus, or while travelling or during a break, just close your eyes and focus on your breathing for 10 minutes. Try it right now. You will be amazed by how calming/soothing you’ll find it. However, solely focusing on your breathing and not giving in to any other random thought process is not that easy and will take some practice. Remember, it’s not just about being physically fit. Your mental health is just as important.

Stay away from Junk Food
No amount of exercise will result in you getting closer to your fitness goals as long as you eat junk food. You need to keep away from junk food/food that is full of preservatives and shift towards organic and all-natural homemade food. A balanced diet is essential.
